Ms. Herman's practice focuses primarily on labor and employment law matters with an emphasis on employment discrimination, workplace harassment, retaliation, medical leave and wrongful discharge. Ms. Herman represents businesses and individuals in state and federal litigation, as well as EEOC proceedings. Prior to joining Tanya Andrews Tate & Associates, Ms. Herman worked with the Atlanta firm of Hunton & Williams as a labor and employment associate, defending employers in employment discrimination, wrongful discharge and workplace harassment cases and advising and counseling clients on numerous employment matters. Before joining Hunton & Williams, Ms. Herman served as a law clerk for the Honorable William C. O'Kelley of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
Ms. Herman received her JD degree, with honors, from Emory University School of Law in 1999, where she was a Notes and Comments Editor on the Emory Law Journal and graduated as a member of Order of the Coif. She received her BS in Criminal Justice in 1996 from the University of Central Florida where she was a member of the President's Leadership Council, Omicron Delta Kappa, Alpha Phi Sigma, Order of Omega and Kappa Delta. Ms. Herman was admitted to practice law in the state of Florida in 1999 and in the state of Georgia in 2000. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia (Labor & Employment Section) and the State Bar of Florida.
